Housing Starts Fell 11.7% in October
Housing starts fell to the lowest level in a year and a half in October, according to Commerce Department data today. Construction of new US homes fell 11.7%, to an annualized 519,000 units, the lowest reading since April 2009, although most of the decline was in multi-family dwellings, like apartments and condominiums.
