Attorney General of Canada on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada - May 11, 2010 Case number 33239 A trucking company arranged to restructure its affairs under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). The CCAA is a federal act that allows companies in financial trouble to avoid bankruptcy. The trucking company collected $305,000 in GST funds, but did not remit it to the Receiver General. The company applied for bankruptcy after the restructuring failed. The Crown applied for the money that had been held in trust to be paid to the Receiver General.
