First Amendment Experts in US Say Quran Burning Legal
Religious and political leaders around the world spoke out against the now cancelled plans by a leader of a small church in Florida to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday as a protest against radical Islam. President Obama called the planned burnings a destructive act and a recruiting tool for al-Qaida. But he said U.S. law protects such actions and constitutional experts agree. VOA’s Laurel Bowman has more.
