I Cycle
Flowing, drifting, spirited along by sheer poetic joie de vivre, propelled along country lanes, raised above the prosaic life on a mount of steel and rubber...I cycle. I. Must. Cycle. Directed, edited and jeep driven by Alex Kirkland. Nathan Filer, who wrote the poem, based off an idea by Stephen Scott Hayward, is also the cyclist and voice. Phil Bambridge operated the camera, made the audio recording and cups of tea. Mellifluous music by Blair Mowat. Made in 48 hours for the DepicT! 2008 90-second film competition. Update: We didn’t make the shortlist, sadly.
