Mobile Bicycle Powered Water Pump
Maya Pedal build bicycle machines in rural Guatemala and the Bicibomba Movil is a great example of the technology. It’s built from mainly recycled parts and can pump water over 26m high or at flow rates of over 40l/min on flat ground. When you're done pumping, you can flip the machine upside down and it rests above the rear wheel of the bike like a pannier rack. You can then ride the bike like normal, transporting the machine and carrying other things on top of it. Credit: Jon Leary/University of Sheffield
