Could FX see a flash crash?
Algorithmic trading was blamed by many for the equity flash crash on May 6. With half the foreign exchange market driven by such pre-programmed trading there are concerns it is also vulnerable. David Rutter, chief executive of ICAP Electronic Broking, argues however that algo trading reduces volatility in forex markets.
