Homestead Series Maple Syrup
Well its that time of year, we love the taste of fresh maple syrup. In Canada, people trap the maple tree in February and March. Let’s see how they do this: You will need a bucket, a tap with a hook and a lid to cover the bucket. Drill the maple tree by 2 - 2 1/2" deep. Place the bucket just below the drilled area with the help of the tap. Cover the bucket with the lid. It takes about 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.
