Dr Beatty discusses his research into the use of the CD40 agonist monoclonal antibody CP-870,893 to treat pancreatic cancer. When used in conjunction with the gemcitabine, this antibody targets the immune system and causes it to seek out and fight the cancer, increasing progression free survival whilst reducing side effects and increasing patient quality of life.
