Multicultural/Multilingual Education
The importance of school/home/community collaboration is an underlying theme when addressing the needs of schools becoming more multicultural and multilingual. George Mason University Professor Dr. Jorge P. Osterling discusses how, in some cases, almost one hundred different languages and dialects may be spoken in one district. Osterling not only also discusses bilingual and English as a Second Language education but also support for teachers who only speak English, college preparation for multilingual teachers and high stakes testing and accountability.
