The Reservation Today
As a result of U.S. government policy in the 19th and 20th centuries, America’s native population was forced from their homelands and onto reservations. Today, significant numbers of American Indians live on these reservations, striving to perpetuate their traditions and pass them on to the next generation. This program connects with adult and student representatives who live on reservations. You'll find out about the location of reservations across the country, the structure of tribal governments, student school, daily life, and economic and social issues facing the reservations.
