宏達電收購 S3 Graphics
威盛電子與宏達電七月六日下午簽署協議，宣布HTC以三億美元交易金額收購所有S3 Graphics 有限公司以發行股份。 S3 Graphics 具有繪圖技術235項專利，其中以S3圖紋壓縮計算最為出色，以授權微軟、索尼、任天堂等科技和消費性電子公司，除傳統PC、遊戲機終端市場，行動裝置與3D視訊的發展應用亦深具價值。 宏達電將有效應用S3所有專利於自家產品，並有機會向其他業者收取權利金。本收購案預計在2011年底前完成。
