It’s a mixed bag for the electronics industry during the financial crisis.  Industry representatives at the electronics fair say orders from the US and Europe are down about 15%. But orders from emerging markets are up about 10%. Money magazine looks what companies are doing to target the emerging markets. Business at pawn shops is hopping during the economic downturn. Pawn shops can act as a place offering high interest loans for people, generally about 3.5% per month, or 42% a year. Or they can just be a place where people sell their jewellery, gold or other valuables if they need the money.
