'Eagle Eye' Strikes Box Office Gold
Cadbury is added to the list of foreign companies to be affected by the month-long tainted milk problem in China. The British candy maker recalled all of its Chinese-made products, in fear the milk used to make the chocolate goods may have been tainted with melamine, a toxic ingredient used in plastic and fertilizer productions. And US-companies Kraft Foods and Mars agreed to recall Chinese-made products for sale in Indonesia, but both want to conduct private investigations. Four people have died in relation to the melamine-tainted milk and about 54-thousand children have developed kidney stones or related illnesses from milk consumption. The group of European tourists and local guides that were kidnapped in southern Egypt 10-days ago were released unharmed on Monday. While no information regarding the location of the recovery or arrests have been confirmed, Egyptian TV did include a report of the Defense Minister saying half of the kidnappers are dead. Another news agency said 6-kidnappers were killed Sunday and 2-more were captured. Reportedly no ransom was paid. And now switching gears to the US-box office, Fireproof got the 4th spot, making 6.5-million-bucks. And with its second week back, Lakeview Terrace grabbed number-3 with 7-million-dollars. Bringing in a cool 13.6-million, at number-2, it was Nights in Rodanthe. And the coveting number-1-spot at the box office. Eagle Eye stole the show, debuting over the weekend at number-1, earning 29.2-million-dollars.
