Hello, I’m Senator John Ensign, Chairman of the NRSC. My friend Susan Collins of Maine is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate. As a Senator, Susan has worked hard on the issues that matter most to Maine — reforming our national intelligence program, improving our disaster response system and promoting a stronger education system for our children. Her dedication to the people of Maine, and to all Americans, began in 1996 when she was elected to her first term in the U.S. Senate. Susan has fought hard to protect the safety of our nation's ports and to prevent terrorist attacks on chemical facilities. As a tireless advocate for children, Susan authored the law that allows teachers a tax deduction when they spend their own money on classroom supplies.
