Global Count: Water
The United Nations estimates nine billion people will be living on earth by 2050.  That will mean more competition for essential resources such as water. The world’s oceans cover about 71 percent of the globe, but in comparison, there is very little fresh water for drinking. Even today about 17 percent of the world's population has no access to clean water.
