Aldis Lamp
This is a sculpture I worked on from 2007-08, modeled after the telegraphic lamp used for naval communication via Morse Code. My version allows the user to enter her message on the laptop using custom software written in Max/MSP/Jitter. The software then scrubs through the video, relaying the message in flashes of light on the exposed cathode ray tube.
