Brad Wall
Beyond Politics Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall was born and raised in Swift Current in a politically active family.His father was a five-term city councillor and his mother spent several years on the local school board. Wall jokes that his family was like the Mennonite version of the Kennedys, but without the partying .Armed with a degree in public administration, Wall came to Ottawa in the 1980s as an assistant to former Tory MP Geoff Wilson. After a few years on Parliament Hill, Wall returned to Saskatchewan and enjoyed a successful career in business.In 1991, Wall attempted to win the nomination for the provincial Progressive Conservatives in Swift Current but fell short. Eight years later, he became the MLA for Swift Current for the nascent Saskatchewan Party.He was elected party leader in 2004. Three years later he led his party to its first ever election win.Wall is an avid muscle car enthusiast; he owns a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 and a 1970 Chrysler Newport. He also manages to find time for assistant coaching duties on a minor football team in Swift Current. Married to Tami Kildaw, they have three children: Megan, Colter, and Faith.
