112 - the single European emergency number
With Europeans as likely to spend a vacation in Paris or Budapest as at the seaside in their own country, they need a single emergency number: one that is easily remembered and will quickly put them in touch with the emergency services they need. This single European emergency number is 112. Wherever your travels in the European Union bring you, 112 can be dialed free of charge, from fixed and mobile phones, or from a phone box. 112 is available in all Member States except Bulgaria. The film explains more about how 112 works, why it is important for EU citizens and what the EU is doing to make it work even better ec.europa.eu
