Chances are, the first time you heard Paul Wall was on the third verse of this summer’s monster Mike Jones hit, ‘Still Tippin.’ But people in Houston have known about him for years, both for his skill as an MC and as a designer of custom-made gold fronts and grills. Recently, all that hustling on the underground paid off, as Wall’s major-label debut, The People’s Champ, hit the album charts at number one. This soon-to-be household name took time out from touring to lounge in mtvU’s Hot Seat, where he filled us in on the value of hard work, the determination of Ohio groupies and the fineness of those Dallas women.
