YouTube Has New Channels for U.S. Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. - At the Google offices in Washington, D.C yesterday, Andy interviewed YouTube’s Head of News and Politics Steve Grove about the site's new Congressional Web pages. There are separate pages for the House and for the Senate, and the offices of all senators and representatives can start their own channels. Andy blogged about this yesterday, when the pages were launched, and we are publishing the interview today. "This stems off the use of YouTube for politics during the election season," Grove says in the interview. "People really showed that this is a platform they wanted to use to engage with their would-be elected leaders, and now that several of them are in office, it's a natural step for us to say, 'Hey, let's open this up for our government.'" You can read Andy's original story here. --Kelsey Blodget, Associate Producer
