CLICK TO SHARE: OFFICIAL WEBSITE: QUESTION OF THE DAY: What does the final shuttle launch mean to you? Neil the Nerd is a video blog showcasing awesome and nerdy ideas. It’s basically just me, Neil Wacaster, sounding off about the stuff that matters to me. Please subscribe if you like the show! BLIP.TV: iTUNES: FACEBOOK: TWITTER: Today the final shuttle launch blasted 4.5 million pounds of people and equipment (mostly equipment) into space. Atlantis, the final space shuttle ever to launch, blasted off at about 11:26 am, and a small group gathered in the backwoods of Missouri to witness the momentous occasion. Finally, I make a tribute to 30 years and 135 space shuttle flights with a little compilation of my own footage with some from NASA. Yes, the footage of the "blastoff" is from today. Most of the other footage is not. I use the footage under the knowledge that any media produced by a government employee in the course of their work immediately passes into the public domain. Therefore, I can use it without guilt. Also Sprach Zarathustra Music by Kevin MacLeod. (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons "Attribution 3.0"
