The Family Album
Using amateur movies and still images captured by ordinary Americans over a span of some 30 years, filmmaker Alan Berliner crafts a collective portrait of the human experience and the definition of "family" from the 1920s to the 1950s. The project also throws oral histories into the mix that were collected from dozens of different families, presenting a fascinating array of perspectives from various ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic groups.
