Bangkok Returns to Normal; Strike at British Airways
(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: May 24, 2010) Newly declassified documents say that Israel tried to sell nuclear weapons to South Africa in 1975. The cabin crew of British Airways have begun a new five-day strike over pay and working conditions, as Britain’s largest airline reported record losses last week. Although the violence has largely ended, the Thai army has asked for an extension on a curfew in Bangkok and other provinces following anti-government unrest. Meanwhile, there has been a massive cleanup effort in Bangkok, children have headed back to school, and businesses have reopened.
