The first ever John Hartford Festival at the unofficial home of Bluegrass, Bean Blossom Indiana, brought out some of the old jammers who’ve been going to the campsite jams at the Annual Festivals since the early 1970's. Swamp Weiss and Dave Johnson started back then, many years and pounds ago. Dave's other old friend John showed up and played some fine dobro but they needed a bass and mandolin player. Almost like magic, two players from Illinois walked up with those instruments in near perfect tune and start playing.
