PlayStation Network to be Back Online by May 31
Sony Corp. is again announcing some new giveaways for those waiting for the Playstation Network to be restored after it was reportedly hacked by the group known as Anonymous on April 20th. The Wall Street Journal reported that customers in the Sony Computer Entertainment Europe zone will have their pick of two free games out of a list of five, free of charge.The announcement came from a Playstation blog post by Nick Caplin, also stating that PSP users would be able to choose two games from a list of four. The post went on to say that the company will let customers know exactly what games they will be able to choose from.As for service restoration, Bloomberg reported that Sony is still uncertain when the network will be fully restored. Shigenori Yoshida, a Tokyo-based spokesman for the company stated they are in the process of adopting an improved security system and plans to have the network fully operational by May 31st. Originally, partial operations were supposed to start within a week of May 1st.
