Destination Achenkirch
Achenkirch is ravishingly situated at the foot of Rofan Mountains and near the shores of Lake Achensee. The small holiday resort lies near the Karwendel nature reserve, which, with surface of 730 square kilometers, is the largest one in Europe. This beautiful resort with population of about 2100 people offers 3500 tourist beds. Also here is situated the famous Lipizzan stud farm, which is the biggest one in Austria. The nearest airports to Achenkirch are Munich airport (100 kilometers), Innsbruck airport (about 55 kilometers) and Salzburg airport (150 kilometers). Also there are various options to get there by car. On can take the toll-free journey from Germany via Achenpass or Bad Tölz. Also from Munich to the motorway exit Holzkirchen, Tegernsee lake, Achenpass or Bad Tölz - border, Achenkirch and on to the other villages. One can use and a train to Jenbach train station. Then continue by public bus or a taxi to Maurach (4 kilometers). The journey by bus from Jenbach to Maurach, Achenkirch, Steinberg and Pertisau is free for those of the guests who have already booked their holidays in one of these towns.
