Achenkirch is ravishingly situated at the foot of Rofan Mountains and near the shores of Lake Achensee. The small holiday resort lies near the Karwendel nature reserve, which, with surface of 730 square kilometers, is the largest one in Europe. Then continue by public bus or a taxi to Maurach (4 kilometers).
