Being the "athletic supporters" we are, the HSSS crew welcomed a man of many talents to our Jake’s on 6th studio, Mike Paganelli, the 2011 Commissioner of the San Diego American Flag Football League. With the SDAFFL season already underway, we chatted about the growth of the league, the teams, the camaraderie, the sport itself and what it means for LGBT athletes and fans around the city & country. But, the chat-up didn't stop at football. Mike is a board member of MARYAH (Metro Area Realtors for Young Adult Housing) and Chairman of their Third Annual MARYAH Poker Tournament. Taking place March 3rd at Top of the Park, this fun & festive poker night raises needed funds for LGBT youth supportive housing in San Diego, including the Center's Sunburst youth housing project. HSSS will be filming LIVE on location from the tournament and will probably get in on some of the card playing action.
