Don’t Ask Don't Tell Forces Soldiers to Lie
Laura Slattery and John Forrett discuss the difficulties faced under the policy of Don’t Ask Don't Tell. Slattery is a member of Knights Out, a group of West Point alumni, faculty, and staff in support of gays and lesbians serving openly in the armed forces. As acting commander, Forrett has faced the responsibility of dealing with soldiers whose homosexuality became known, while he himself was a closeted gay man.
