Greece: Stay or go?
Young people in Greece are being disproportionately hit by the country’s financial crisis and budgetary cuts. Many now want to emigrate, which could have serious consequences for the future of the nation. The lucky few who find jobs after school or university are often paid a paltry internship wage. Many are left with little choice but to continue living with their parents. The provinces have been badly affected, but the situation is also grim in major cities like Athens or Thessaloniki. Now many graduates and school leavers are asking themselves whether they should move abroad in search of work.
