Age old technology: Earthy fridge without electricity
In a unique exception electricity is not a requirement for a terracotta fridge, an age-old technology that is rediscovered in Kerala. The concept of the fridge is earthy simplicity and downright commonsense A smaller pot is placed inside a larger pot, the space between the two is filled with damp sawdust or sand or even water. As the water evaporates it brings down the temperature inside the smaller pot.
