Tiefschwarz in Ibiza
The Tiefschwarz story begins with two brothers, Ali and Basti Schwarz, who were born and bred in Stuttgart. Ali ran club nights in their hometown where they DJ’ed and both had a passion for techno and deep house. The brothers started producing and created 'Tiefschwarz' in 1997, releasing their first single, 'Music' on Wave Music (New York) in 1998. This led to them recording their first album, 'Ral 9005' which was released on Four Music in 2000 and then licensed to Classic Recordings in London in 2002, which put them firmly on the map in the UK. Tiefschwarz's remixes include reworks for the likes of Masters at Work, Ultra Naté, Freaks, Isolee, The Rapture, Cassius, Minimal Compact, DJ Hell, Missy Elliot and Kelis. Their status as internationally recognised producers was solidified with their remix of Spektrum (“Kinda New”) which was a worldwide hit...and the rest as they say is history... In the clip, we catch up with Tiefschwarz just before they play Kehakuma at Space. They speak about nearly 20 years of going to Ibiza, be it business or pleasure, and the best part of the last decade playing there regularly. We also hear about the transition from vinyl to CDs to a USB key, including a full on demonstration, which is not to be missed(!), and about their forthcoming new releases - it's going to be a busy year by the sounds of it...
