This morning, Chancellor Hemenway announced that he will be stepping down. After serving 14 years as chancellor, his resignation will be effective June 30th, 2009. In a press release issued this morning, Hemenway pledged to the Jayhawk community that he will remain deeply engaged as chancellor over the next seven months as the university navigates through the challenging financial waters. Hemenway’s resignation caused different reactions across campus. While some were saddened others seemed excited for a new era at KU. Check back at 5:30 for reactions from all over KU.
