Burning The Future: Coal In America
Docurama Films is proud to announce the release of a searing exposé about the latest threat to our environment and health in the search for energy: mountaintop coal mining. While the world seeks alternatives to oil, and "clean coal" is touted as the solution, BURNING THE FUTURE: COAL IN AMERICA reveals the devastation and toxins left behind for the residents of West Virginia. The film follows ordinary citizens-including 2009 Goldman Prize winner Maria Gunnoe-who take action to protect their mountains and preserve their way of life; it also offers all of us tools to take action ourselves. After a platform theatrical release and cable premiere on the Sundance Channel in April of 2007, the film comes to retail shelves on a DVD packed with bonus material in eco-friendly packaging on August 25, 2009.
