Rosewood
Winner - Best Supporting Actor in a Short Film (Darnel Powell) at the 2010 Long Island International Film Expo A film about life in the restaurant business. Paul (Shaan Sharma), a college student, gets his first job as a part-time dishwasher at an old diner named Rosewood, but to survive his first night on the job he must contend with the tyrannical head chef, Sully Rodriguez (Alex Alfaro) and the veteran pasta man, Daniel Norville (Darnel Powell) and learn what it takes to work in a real restaurant. "Rosewood" was screened at the 2010 San Antonio Film Festival and the 2010 Long Island International Film Expo. It will also be screened at the upcoming 2010 Colombia Gorge International Film Festival. This short was an attempt to condense the first act of a feature length script, also named "Rosewood". We originally made the film as a way to shop the script around, to show potential producers and investors that we were capable of making professional-quality movies and that "Rosewood" was a project worth investing in. The short itself was shot over the course of nine days in January 2010 on a budget of about $200. The majority of footage was shot at a real local restaurant named "Rosewood". A feature-length script is already written, and we are currently looking for investors to make the complete film.
