Play Sudan to have 'brotherly' relationship
South Sudan will have a "brotherly relationship with the Republic of Sudan according to Rebecca Garang, the widow of rebel leader John Garang.On 9 July, the Republic of South Sudan will become the world’s newest nation state, formally seceding from Sudan.President Omar al-Bashir's government in Khartoum has pledged his support to South Sudan and respect its new found independence.Rebecca Garang told the BBC's Will Ross that the foundation of the new nation "is a very great moment for us".
