Osteoporosis of the Spine
The loss of healthy bone structure is an expected effect of aging, but it also affects many other segments of the population due to a variety of factors such as nutrition and diseases. Osteoporosis and its ill-effects have reached epidemic proportions with significant impact on individual well-being and health care costs. In this program, University of Washington doctors discuss the need for greater osteoporosis awareness and prevention among the general population and more pragmatic diagnostic and treatment approaches among health car providers.
