It is believed that it had evolved in 1950s. Gin is the most important component in martinis. Various gin varieties are used for the martini cocktail according to the preference of taste and flavor. The amount of gin should also be in proportion to avoid the extra flavor of gin in the cocktail. Dry martini is more preferable than the wet one. The martini cocktail should never be shaken. It should always be stirred for mixing.
