Landmarks: Totem Pole Park & Blue Whale, Foyil & Catoosa
This 9-acre park was created by folk artist Ed Galloway from late 1930 to 1962. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the park was designed as a monument to American Indians. The centerpiece is a 97-foot totem pole that’s the largest in the world. Galloway, originally known for his woodcarvings, made 300 fiddles, 40 of which are on display. The museum and gift shop contains souvenirs and books available for purchase. Fee applies for groups requesting a tour guide. Picnic shelters for 18 to 24 people on site. Originally aired July 22, 2006.
