Slimy invader
Colorful patches of slime began last year to smother oyster beds in the Mosquito Lagoon along Florida’s East Coast. It took University of Central Florida scientists months to identify it as a type of sea squirt. The UCF scientists are now trying to learn if the odd animal poses a threat to the lagoon's environment.
