News of the World to Close Amid Hacking Scandal
The News of the World, Britain’s largest Sunday newspaper, will cease to exist after its final edition this Sunday, News Corp.'s James Murdoch said in an announcement to staff e-mailed to news organizations.   The 168-year-old Sunday tabloid will close after allegations that its journalists tapped the voicemails of murder victims and their families and paid police officers for stories.
