San Jose Police Release Video of Armed Takeover of Pot Club
Tweet San Jose police have released a video of suspects who they say robbed a marijuana dispensary in late September. The video shows one African-American man wearing a purple backwards-facing baseball cap waving around a gun and taking what appears to be marijuana from behind a case at the Monterey Road Dispensary on Sept. 29 at 11:43 a.m. He is likely in his late 20s to early 30s, standing 6 feet 2 More.. inches and weighing about 250 pounds. He has black short hair, a goatee and tattoos on his forearms. His accomplice, a man wearing a camouflage hoodie over his head is seen wearing gloves and also holding a gun over what appears to be an employee of the dispensary. The race of the suspect isn’t known and his face wasn't shown on the video. He looks to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall and thin. Police say the suspects ordered two employees to the ground, tied their hands together and also robbed them of their personal belonging, along with cash and pot. The suspects then fled in a green Honda 4-door and remain at large. The suspects did not fire their weapons, police said, and the employees were not hurt. Police say the suspects could be linked to a similar robbery Sept. 18 at the 408 Compassion Center on Aiello Drive. However, two employees there were pistol-whipped by four suspects who entered the club about 6:35 p.m. In May, police arrested five suspects after a May 20 robbery of the South Bay Cannamed Patient Association in the 300 block of Commercial Street. Anyone with information about the suspects or either robbery is urged to contact Detectives Jason Tanner or Brandon Sanchez of the San Jose Police Department's robbery unit at 408-277-4166. Anyone remaining to wish anonymous may call the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers hotline at 408- 947-STOP (7867).
