Beginning near Connerville in Johnston County, and flowing southeasterly to the Red River, this spring-fed river has a designated trout area (Nov. 1 through March 31) in the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area. Other fishing opportunities exist for black bass, channel and blue catfish and crappie. Float trip opportunities by kayak on this Class II-III river, offering several falls and ledges, and dependent on seasonal waterfall.
