AIG to Repay Government $37 Billion
American International Group (AIG) said today it has raised almost $37 billion to repay the US government part of the bailout funds it received during the financial crisis.  AIG said it closed the sale of its ALICO unit to MetLife (MET) today, for $16.2 billion, including $7.2 billion in cash and the remainder in MetLife securities.
