Tom and Jerry: Barnyard Bunk (1932)
"The Great Depression has hit a rundown farm owned by a Farmer Alfalfalike farmer. As the old man sleeps on his porch, objects around him begin to break down. /.../ Just then saxophone salesmen Tom and Jerry happen by the farm. The farmer is indifferent to their music ("Aw, nuts!"), so the duo decide to show him how useful saxophones can be. Their jazzy tunes soon have the farmer’s chickens laying eggs, his cow churning out milk, and his woodpeckers chopping wood to the beat. The music even brings the farmer a nice, frothy mug of beer."
