Udaipur Rajasthan, The Venice of the East
Watch the The Breathing Method!'s video: "Udaipur Rajasthan, The Venice of the East", plus listen to free music, get tour dates, pictures, and news at PureVolume.com Udaipur was founded in 1568 by Maharaja Udai Singh II and is surrounded by lakes, forests, and the Aravalli Mountain Range. Beautiful palaces and temples lie around and in Lake Pichola which is the central focus of Udaipur. The City Palace Complex, the largest palace in Rajasthan and Jagniwas Palace, the now luxurious hotel in the middle of the lake where James Bond’s "Octo***" lived are key features. You can even find the world's biggest turban here. These opulent Rajput structures situated directly on the lake with mountains towering behind make this spot feel like the setting of some grand fairytale. Unfortunately, the town reminds the visitor about it's Bond fame by playing Octo*** every night at 7:30. It can be heard in stereo from any rooftop across town. The lake is always full of people swimming, bathing, or doing their laundry. We were very fortunate to see the lake full as the monsoons were very good this summer. This is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world.
