The new, groundbreaking console was presented by Kaz Hirai, President and CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment America and Ken Kutaragi, President and Group CEO Sony Computer Entertainment. The new PS3 incorporates the world's most advanced Cell microprocessor with supercomputer level performance. The console has adopted BD-ROM technology, which offers 54 GB maximum storage per disc, enabling it to deliver HD quality content as well compatibility with 13,000 titles already released for it's predecessors.
