フランスでメスのゴリラを養子にした夫婦が話題となっている。メスのゴリラ「ディジット」は、昼は動物園の人気者だが、夜は動物園のおりを出て人間の家で過ごす。産みの親に育児放棄されたディジットは、子どもがいない動物園の園長夫妻に「娘」として引き取られた。お父さんに甘える姿は実の親子のよう。13歳の今は体重120kgで、園長夫妻の愛情を一身に受け、すくすくと育っている。父親の園長は、「わたしたちは、とても強いきずなで結ばれている」と話している。
