'Tank Wallpaper' by Brigitte Zieger, 2009
Musée de Pully and mudac have joined forces to produce a show on contemporary wallpaper titled 'Face au mur. Papiers peints contemporains'. But far from being limited to paper, some artists have gone multi-sensory and taken things to another dimension. German artist Brigitte Zieger challenges the idyllic motif of Toile de Jouy on her wallpaper by projecting animations of a moving tank (above), a sniper aiming at the viewer, and the explosion of the pattern, all complete with sound effects.
