Dr Ian Lewis - Tenovus, Cardiff, UK
Dr Ian Lewis, research manger at Tenovus, talks about the 'Sing for Life' choir that will be opening the 2010 NCRI meeting. This choir, made up of cancer patients, survivors, carers and family, was set up to provide an alternative form of support group for cancer patients but has also produced statistically significant improvements in a number of measures of patient quality of life. Dr Lewis explains how the choir have benefited from their experience whether they are confident singers or not and outlines the plans to expand this project nationally.
