Season 7, Episode 73
Revue Politique We recap the verbal exchanges which occurred during today’s Question Period. Pierre Donais welcomes representatives from the four main federal Political parties in the House of Commons for a discussion on topics highlighted in Parliament today. Many non-governemental organizations are denouncing the federal government's refusal to fund, as part of its G8 maternal health initiative, programs that include abortion. On Monday, international development groups protesed on Parliament Hill. At this protest, Conservative Senator Nancy Ruth told them to "shut up" otherwise the Harper government would toughen its stance on abortion. The executive director of Canadians For Choice, Patricia Larue, comments on Ruth's statement and on the Harper government's position on this issue.
